Ferari Supercars

Ferari is an international symbol of not only automotive engineering, but also of technological excellence. Ferari manufacturing operation is based in the Italian town of Maranello, Ferari also have a plant at Carrozzeria Scaglietti, in Modena, its at this arm of Ferari that they make the aluminium chassis.

Ferari's main factory site is seperate from the Gestione Sportive Racing department, and of course the Fiorana racing track just off Marenello's main road. The main Ferrari factory dates back to the 1940's and has recently under gone huge redevelopment and investment under the guidance of the Ferari president, Luca di Montezmolo in 1991.

Ferari has always prided itself on not only cutting edge and beautiful sumpercar designs, but also hi tech aero dynamics. Ferari designs have no less than 3 wind tunnels onsite, the latest of which was opened in 1997 and is dedicated to the Ferari formula 1 team. Much of the work carried out in the development of the Ferari F1 cars find its way into its production cars sooner or later, the 2 operations go somewhat hand in hand.

Ferari are currently producing some 4,500 supercars a year, thats broken into 2 major catagories, the V8 cars like the F430 and the spider and then the V12 cars like the 599GTB Fiorano and the 612 Scaglietti.

There are many exotic sports cars available on the market today, but few can match the pedigree and history of Ferari, the very name evokes the feeling of motoring passion. The cars are designed not just to perform and look good, but to feel good, when you own a Ferari, it becomes a part of you.

If you are not lucky enough to own a Ferari, there are many places that offer Ferari driving experience days, you can also hire Ferari's from a number of specialist suppliers.

Don't forget many Ferari's come with a variety of gear boxes you may not be familiar with, so enure you check how to how to change gears in an Automatic car, vice versa, if you have never driven a manual gearbox, please get some lessons.
